Get to know Mood. Who we are, why we started, and where we want to go.

Salam, I’m Iram, one of the two founders here at Mood. I started this brand with my sister, Humaira. We are both young, working women, trying to navigate through life, and break free from the kids table. If you know, you know.

I, like many other modest girls, knew about layering way before it became trendy. Leggings, polo necks, pull on sleeves, oh, and cardigans, so many cardigans. That was all until I discovered abayas. They gave me a new confidence, and allowed me be truly comfortable in my fashion choices.

I was first introduced to the abaya world on my trip to Saudi. In the UK, I was so used to seeing black, classic abayas, so seeing the options available abroad was truly eye opening. Colours, prints, embroidery - I was in love. Soon after, the UK abaya market seemed to be catching up, and I was really excited. Finally, I’d be able to update my wardrobe!

As much as I loved the fashion shift, I wasn’t truly happy with the abayas when they arrived. The quality wasn’t the same as those I’d seen abroad, and I was back to where I started.

That’s when I realised I wouldn’t find what I wanted unless I created it myself. There was a gap in the market for updated, fashionable, good quality abayas and that’s when Mood was born.

Fashion is not just about clothes, it’s about the way they make you feel. A good outfit can transform your confidence, self esteem, and empower you. At Mood, we know the importance of feeling good in your clothes and that’s where we, as a brand, focus our efforts.

With this page, I want to create an open channel to share our journey as young women trying to make it in this world, and hear yours too. Maybe we’ll laugh, maybe we’ll cry, maybe we’ll find peace in each others stories.
